Angela Lewis, Business Performance & Quality Manager for ESS Defence, Marine & Aerospace, has won the Advocate of the Year Award at the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards.
Despite having no personal link to the Armed Forces, Angela has supported service personnel and veterans tirelessly over the past decade in both her day-to-day role and a variety of additional work. Key achievements include:
- Championing the lived experience for current personnel in ESS' defence contracts
- Forming part of Compass Group UK & Ireland's Armed Forces Committee
- Playing an integral part in Compass achieving the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Employer Recognition Scheme award which it has maintained for five years
- Undertaking a wide variety of charity work, including various projects delivered in collaboration with the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and support for veterans during the pandemic.
The event took place on 29th June at the Grosvenor House London, Park Lane.
Compass was also shortlisted in the Employer of the Year category.
