Scott Freeman, Culinary Director for ESS Defence, Marine & Aerospace, has been recognised at the We Are The City Rising Star Awards where he won the Men for Gender Balance Award.
The awards focus on the achievements of women below senior management or director level, representing the female talent pipeline and the next generation of future leaders. They also recognise the efforts of senior leaders who are championing gender equality.
Scott was nominated by Leanne Turk, Compass Group UK & Ireland Head of Culinary Development, in celebration of his commitment to driving equality in the workplace. The entry was judged by an independent panel. Â
As an ally of Compass’ Women in Food Network, Scott views gender equality as an essential characteristic of a successful workplace.
As well as encouraging female colleagues in his own team to progress, he is supportive of diversity and inclusion across the wider business. This has included inputting into important matters such as adoption leave for new parents, supporting the implementation of a Menopause at Work Policy and regularly attending Women in Food events.
