ESS Delivers Soft FM Services at Tedworth House

04 December 2024

ESS Defence, specialist provider of foodservice and facilities management to military establishments across the UK, has further expanded its service delivery with the addition of Tedworth House, home to the Tedworth House Recovery Centre which supports the holistic recovery of MOD personnel.

Located in Tidworth, Wiltshire, the Grade II* listed building includes single occupancy accommodation, family suites, classrooms, sports and leisure facilities, social spaces and offices.

ESS is delivering a range of services including catering, retail, leisure, cleaning, laundry and reception to the site in Wiltshire.

As part of the mobilisation, the company welcomed 15 transferring employees to its workforce. It worked closely with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transfer of services.

Military personnel can enjoy a high street style dining experience on site, from ESS’ new food offer that delivers on the Defence Catering Strategy requirements. The menu comprises a series of branded concepts designed to enhance choice, value and wellbeing for the modern military customer.

The site incorporates a large garden and ESS will work with the team to incorporate freshly grown produce into its function menus.

The historic building requires specialist cleaning services including stained glass window and chandelier cleaning.

Tedworth House is an addition to the Hestia South West regional soft FM contract already being run by ESS. The company supports over 250 military establishments across the UK, from Cornwall to the north of Scotland. These include operational, headquarters and training environments in partnership with the DIO and other industry partners.

Major Steve Hickey PARA, OC Personnel Recovery Centre Tidworth, Tedworth House, commented:

“Tedworth House is used to facilitate courses run for Defence’s most vulnerable service personnel. It is a complex site and ESS has met the challenge to deliver the services required, while ensuring the house users continue to feel safe and secure. The house works as one team and ESS has continued to support that ethos – without the ESS team, the house couldn’t function to the level it currently does.”

Bob Gray, Managing Director – ESS Defence, Marine & Aerospace, commented:

“It’s been great to bring Tedworth House into the Hestia South West contract which we’ve been operating since June 2018. We’re proud to be supporting the site and the important work it does to aid the recovery of service personnel and we’ve enjoyed welcoming our new colleagues and customers.”
