ESS, the Defence, Government Services and Offshore sector of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has collaborated with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) to sell a selection of Royal Navy and Royal Marines branded merchandise through retail stores within its defence estate.
RNRMC is the principal charity of the Royal Navy, which supports sailors, marines and their families, for life. As an official partner to the organisation, ESS undertakes fundraising as well as strategic project work. The relationship demonstrates ESS’ commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant which is underpinned by a series of pledges to assist those from the wider Armed Forces community.
The merchandise is on sale in ESS’ retail stores at HMS Collingwood, HMS Excellent, HMS Sultan, HMS Raleigh and HMS Drake. A range of collectible and household items are available, including the iconic HMS Queen Elizabeth reusable ‘Carrier’ bag and the ‘Build Your Own Aircraft Carrier’ model.
Profits will go straight to the RNRMC so the initiative will drive fundraising, as well as brand awareness for the charity.
Mark Webster, Managing Director – ESS Defence, Government Services, Offshore & Remote, commented: ‘We are committed to our work supporting the Armed Forces and have been advocates of the Armed Forces Covenant for several years. Our charity partnership further demonstrates our approach and we’re pleased to be able to support the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity in this way.’
Adrian Bell, CEO at the RNRMC, said: ‘This is a really exciting and innovative partnership and I’m hugely grateful for the genuine interest and commitment shown by ESS both corporately and individually. I am delighted that ESS is offering the RNRMC so many ways of interacting with and supporting our beneficiaries.’
